Toronto/Salt Lake City

I remember being on the Gardiner Expressway when I got the thrilling call that I was selected to be a PA announcer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. It had been on my ‘bucket list’ to go to the Olympics. Who knew that my event, figure skating, would have the story of the Games with a judging scandal that exploded worldwide. My mic flag is a memento of that crazy, crazy time in Salt Lake where there was even a camera poised on us, the announcers, and a second Gold medal was awarded to Canadians Jamie Sale and David Pelletier. It was my first Games although not my only as I head to my 7th and am booked for my 8th Olympics. I kept this item as a reminder to myself to throw my ‘hat in the ring’ if there’s a project I want to do. You just never know how far you can get.
