About Long Winter
\n<\/strong>Long Winter is Toronto’s essential all\u00ad-ages, pay-what-you-can inter-\u00adarts series that takes place throughout the winter months. Featuring over 200 local artists\/collectives and welcoming 5,000+ participants per season, Long Winter animates multiple rooms on multiple floors, transforming spaces into immersive, collaborative environments. Featured work includes performance art, theatre and dance, large-\u00adscale sculptural installations, projections (single and dual screen videos, still images), visual installations (print, painting, photography collage) and interactive presentations including original video games by local programmers.\u00a0Initially housed at the Great Hall on Queen Street West, Long Winter has a proven track record programming consistently sold-out shows at venues ranging from the Gladstone Hotel, to the Hearn Generating Station (Luminato), to the Galleria Mall. Memory Palace is back with a new installation\/activation at Postscript, Toronto’s largest pop-up patio at Scadding Court, hosted by the Toronto Fringe Festival.<\/p>\n

Visitors can revisit the memory orbs made by the public at last year’s installation as well as add their own memories to the piece with the materials provided. Colourful threads allow the public to tie connections between different memories, creating an evolving sculpture.<\/p>\n

Memory Palace Project’s latest installation is currently on view at the Assembly Theatre<\/a> in Parkdale. We are thrilled to be in the company of other artists, theatre and creative work in one of Toronto’s few remaining indie theatre spaces.<\/p>\n

The current memory objects in our online collection<\/a><\/span>\u00a0have been transformed into physical form (hint: baubles!) and will be on display to the public in an outdoor installation in Scadding Court.<\/p>\n

Members of the public can also actively participate<\/strong> in\u00a0the\u00a0installation by making their\u00a0own\u00a0memory object to add to the piece.\u00a0 Invite your family and friends to join the project and look out for the participation table with instructions. Oh and did we mention it’s all free<\/strong>?<\/p>\n
