These dolls were made by my first love’s mother. She embroidered each
of our names on the doll’s butts which I find both sweet and funny!
Currently, they act as a touchstone to the youthful joy and fervor of
my young love experience, but there is no place for them now. We have
both moved on, married, had children. The gift is 25+ years old and I
don’t hold on to them in hopes of a reconciliation but how does
someone properly dispose of a sentimental personalized gift such as
these sweet dolls? I will not throw them out as garbage and I cannot
re-gift something with my name on it’s rear, so they remain in my
closet in a state of limbo.
